Knitting for SmilesNovember 1st, 2013
Brundage Point River Centre
Sunday, November 10, 2013
2pm to 4pm
Are you interested in knitting?
If so, we would like you to join our group.
The ladies involved in “Knitting for Smiles” have been getting together in the last year making Comfort Dolls. It’s a time to meet with old friends and make new friends. If you do not know how to knit it would be a great opportunity to learn. To date we have made 434 dolls which have been distributed to local organizations, Philippines Mission, Uganda (CHAT) and Samaritan’s Purse International Relief.
Comfort Dolls originally began in 1998 when they were used as packing to protect medical supplies being sent to children around the world. Information regarding the Comfort Dolls can be found online through ICross Canada, www.icross.ca.
Our next meeting is Sunday, November 10th, 2:00 – 4:00 at Brundage Point River Centre. If you have any questions you can call Paula 738-3226.
