PAC Minutes – August 12, 2003

1. CALL TO ORDER
The Town of Grand Bay-Westfield Planning Advisory Committee met for a special meeting on Tuesday, August 12, 2003 at 5:30 p.m. with Chairman, Larry Chapman presiding.
2. RECORD OF ATTENDANCE
All Members were present with the exception of Mel Steffens and Cllr. Little, who was represented by Cllr. Brenda Murphy.
“…moved by Ralph Stevens  to excuse Mel Steffens….” Seconded by Jim Burke.  Carried.
Works Commissioner, Bruce Gault was present representing Development Officer, David Taylor while on holiday.

DECLARATION OF CONFLICT OF INTEREST
No conflict declared.
5. DEVELOPMENT OFFICER’S REPORT DATED AUGUST 7, 2003 RE: APPLICATION FOR VARIANCE DEBBIE SPEIGHT – 37/41 HIGHLAND ROAD
Trevor Huntley, owner of  property located at 37 Highland Road was present and advised the Committee of the following:

  • his house is presently located on the property line;
  • he is in the process of selling his property with a closing date of      August 14th;
  • he is in agreement with Travis and Debbie Speight of 41 Highland  Road to have the property line between them adjusted.

There was no one else present speaking in favor of or against this Application.
The following motion was then made:
“…moved by James Evans that the Planning Advisory Committee grant the following requests for variance to the Town’s Zoning By-law, Town of Grand Bay-Westfield By-law No. 101, to locate a main building at 37 Highland Road, PID  00217257/30169627, with the completion of a new Subdivision Plan indicating the newly consolidated lots #2003-1 & 2003-2:
a) under section 8.2.4.3 (f), a variance of 1.98 m to decrease the side yard setback from 3.5 m to 1.52 m….”
Seconded by Andy Shaw.  Carried.

6. ADJOURNMENT
“…Ralph Stevens moved to adjourn at 5:40 p.m….”
Seconded by Jim Burke. Carried.
