PAC Minutes – January4, 2000

The regular meeting of the Town of Grand Bay-Westfield Planning Advisory Committee was held Tuesday,  January 4, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. in Room “A”.  Chairman, Larry Chapman conducted the meeting and called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m.
1. RECORD OF ATTENDANCE
All Members were present with the exception of Bill McCann.
Chairman, Larry Chapman recommended that the order of the Agenda be reversed, making the Election of Officers the last item on the Agenda.
“…it was moved by Ralph Stevens and seconded by Deputy Mayor Black that the Items on the Agenda be changed, as recommended….”
Motion carried.
2. P.A.C. MINUTES OF DECEMBER 20, 1999
“…it was moved by Mel Steffens and seconded by James Evans to accept the December 20, 2000 P.A.C. Minutes as presented….”
Motion carried.
3. CHAIRMAN’S REMARKS
The Chairman welcomed newly appointed Member, Michael Hare to the Committee.  The Secretary is to look into collecting all the appropriate By-laws, Community Plan Act and Guide to the Act for Mr. Hare, along with any other necessary documentation from the Development Officer.
The Chairman also suggested that a letter of thanks be sent to Philip Kelly for his years of contribution to the Committee.
“…it was moved by Mel Steffens and seconded by Ralph Stevens that P.A.C. send a thank you letter to Philip Kelly….”
Motion carried.
4. DECLARATION OF CONFLICT OF INTEREST
No conflicts declared.
5. ELECTION OF OFFICERS FOR 2000
Chairman, Larry Chapman stepped down from the Chair and Deputy Mayor Black conducted the meeting during the Election of Officers.
Deputy Mayor Black called three times for nominations from the floor for the position of Chairman for P.A.C. for the year 2000.  There was one nomination from the floor.  Ralph Stevens nominated Larry Chapman for the position of Chairman, with nomination seconded by Mel Steffens.  Larry accepted the nomination and was unanimously voted in as P.A.C. Chairman for Grand Bay-Westfield for the year 2000.
Deputy Mayor Black called three times for nominations from the floor for the position of Vice-Chairman for P.A.C. for the year 2000. There was one nomination from the floor.  James Evans nominated Ralph Stevens for the position of Vice-Chairman, with nomination seconded by Larry Chapman.  Ralph accepted the nomination and was unanimously voted in as P.A.C. Vice-Chairman for Grand Bay-Westfield for the year 2000.
Both Larry and Ralph were congratulated on their newly elected positions for the year 2000.
6. ADJOURNMENT
Ralph Stevens moved to adjourn at 7:20 p.m.
