PAC Minutes – July 17, 2000

The regular meeting of the Town of Grand Bay-Westfield Planning Advisory Committee was held Monday, July 17, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. in Room “A”.  Chairman, Larry Chapman conducted the meeting and called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m.
1. RECORD OF ATTENDANCE
Members absent were Bill McCann and Michael Hare.
2. P.A.C. MINUTES OF JUNE 19, 2000
“…it was moved by Deputy Mayor Black and seconded by Mel Steffens to accept as presented the June 19, 2000 P.A.C.  Minutes….”
Motion carried.
3. REGULAR COUNCIL MINUTES OF JUNE 12, 2000
“…it was moved by Ralph Stevens and seconded by James Evans to receive and file the June 12, 2000 Regular Council Minutes….”
Motion carried.
4. CHAIRMAN’S REMARKS
The Chairman informed the Committee that Michael Hare is absent due to a death in the family.
5. DECLARATION OF CONFLICT OF INTEREST
No Conflict of Interest declared.
6. DEVELOPMENT OFFICER’S REPORT DATED JULY 11, 2000 RE: REQUEST FOR TEMPORARY USE PERMIT FOR SIGNAGE GRAND BAY-WESTFIELD VOLUNTEER FIRE FIGHTERS  150 NEREPIS ROAD
During the discussion, the Development Officer advised the Committee that no letters have been forwarded to the surrounding property owners due to the nature of the proposed development and that Council has already approved the location.
The following motion was then made:
“…moved by Ralph Stevens that P.A.C. Grant a Temporary Use Permit for the Grand Bay-Westfield Volunteer Fire Fighters to place a T-1 temporary low level sign on Town owned property located at 150 Nerepis Road, NBGIC No. 00211805,  pursuant to Section 4 (2), Division II; of the Town’s By-law # 16, Town of Grand Bay-Westfield Zoning By-law, subject to:
a) conditions set out under Section 70 of the Town’s Zoning By-law, Division I,  and approved by the Development Officer. Authorization for the development described above (temporary signage) is hereby granted for the temporary period of July 21, 2000, expiring July 31, 2000.  At the end of the authorized period, you (the Grand Bay-Westfield Volunteer Fire Fighters) are hereby required to terminate or remove the development (temporary signage) hereby authorized….”
Motion seconded by Mel Steffens.  Motion carried.
7.  REVISED P.A.C. RULES OF PROCEDURE
Following a brief review of the revised P.A.C. Rules of Procedure, the following motion was made:
“…moved by Ralph Stevens that P.A.C. adopt the revised P.A.C. Rules of Procedure, with revision date of July 13, 2000….”
Motion seconded by Mel Steffens.  Motion carried.
8. ADJOURNMENT
Ralph Stevens moved to adjourn at 7:12 p.m.
