The Town of Grand Bay-Westfield Planning Advisory Committee met for a regular meeting on Monday, July 17, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. with Chairman, Ralph Stevens presiding.

3. PLANNING ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES OF JUNE 19, 2006

4. REGULAR COUNCIL MINUTES OF JUNE 12, 2006
“…moved by Ron Daigle to receive and file Regular Council Minutes of June 12, 2006….”
Seconded by Councillor Ashley Little. Carried.
5. CHAIRMAN’S REMARKS
The chairman requested the following Item be added to the Agenda:
“…moved by Ron Daigle that letter from Barbara McNutt dated July 10, 2006 Re: Placement of the New Sewage Pumping Station on Kenwood Road be added to the Agenda as Item No.9 and that original Item No. 9 Re: Adjournment become Item No. 10….”
Seconded by Linda Estabrooks. Carried.
Chairman Ralph Stevens welcomed Bruce Gault, Works Commissioner as David Taylor, Development Officer is on vacation.

7. APPLICATION FOR VARIANCE RE: JEFFERY MCCAULEY – 56 THOMPSON ROAD
 (A) DEVELOPMENT OFFICER’S REPORT DATED JULY 6, 2006
The applicant, Jeffery McCauley, was not present and no one else was present speaking in favour of or against this application.
“…moved by Mel Steffens to approve the following variance to the Town’s Zoning By-law, Town of Grand Bay-Westfield By-law No. 101, for the construction of an addition to the main building, to be located as per submitted site plan at 56 Thompson Road, PID No. 00107631: a) under section 8.2.3.3(d), grant a variance of 1.4 m to reduce the required minimum Front Yard Setback from 7.5 m to 6.1 m….”
Seconded by Jim Burke. Carried.
8. APPLICATION FOR VARIANCE RE: SHAWN BUDD – 71 MALLARD DRIVE
(A) DEVELOPMENT OFFICER’S REPORT DATED JULY 6, 2006
Applicant, Shawn Budd, was present and stated that he had nothing further to add to his application. There was no one else speaking in favour of or against this application.
“…moved by Ron Daigle to approve the following variance to the Town’s Zoning By-law, Town of Grand Bay-Westfield By-law No. 101, for the construction of a new single family dwelling to be located as per submitted site plan at 71 Mallard Drive, PID No. 00458216:a) under section 8.1.7, grant a variance of 1.75 m to reduce the required minimum Height of foundation from 0.75 m above street level to 1.0 m below street level….”
Seconded by Jim Burke. Carried.
