APPLICATION FOR VARIANCE RE:  CODY MCKINNON – 4 OLD SHORE ROAD
(A) DEVELOPMENT OFFICER’S REPORT DATED JUNE 14, 2012
(B) E-MAIL FROM SUSAN ARBEAU DATED JUNE 13, 2012
Applicant, Cody McKinnon was present and addressed the Committee as follows: his Variance Application is to allow for 2 accessory structures on his property, thereby exceeding the maximum limit of 75²  meters under the By-law for the total ground area of accessory structures on the property; he would prefer the existing shed (16 ft x 15 ft) to remain, as he uses it specially to store wood to heat his home; he plans to construct a 2 car garage (24 ft x 32 ft), with attic storage. The Committee informed Mr. McKinnon that the maximum area for accessory buildings is 75 m² and that he is asking for 92.6 m², for a Variance of 23%, without reasonable physical features on the property for the Committee to accept such a large request.
E-mail received from Susan Arbeau stated no objection to this Variance Request.
There was no one else present speaking in favor of or against this Application.
“… moved by James Evans that the Planning Advisory Committee deny the Variance Request to increase the maximum permitted area of accessory buildings under the Town’s Zoning By-law, Town of Grand Bay-Westfield By-law No. 112, as proposed for the construction of a new detached garage to be located at 4 Old Shore Road, PID No. 219717….”
Seconded by Ron Daigle.  Carried.
