The Town of Grand Bay-Westfield Planning Advisory Committee met for a regular meeting on Monday, June 4, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. with Chair, Ralph Stevens presiding.

APPLICATION FOR VARIANCE RE: GERALD CONLEY-BEDDOW – 50 SUNNYSIDE DRIVE
(A) DEVELOPMENT OFFICER’S REPORT DATED MAY 31, 2012
Applicant, Gerald Conley-Beddow was present and addressed the Committee as follows:
He has had his property surveyed, determining that the slab for the garage is indeed encroaching on the Municipal Right-of-Way; he is requesting a Variance of 7.5 m  for the location of the proposed building to be located on the property line, with no setback.
There was no one present speaking in favor of or against this Application.
“…moved by Chyann Kirby that the Planning Advisory Committee DENY the Application for a requested Variance of 7.5 m, to reduce the front yard setback from Latour Street from 7.5 m to 0.0 m for the construction of an accessory building (detached garage) to be located at 50              Sunnyside Drive, PID No. 458844….”

APPLICATION FOR VARIANCE RE: LISA GARNETT – 72 THOMPSON ROAD
(A) DEVELOPMENT OFFICER’S REPORT DATED MAY 31, 2012
The Applicant was not in attendance.
There was no one present speaking in favor of or against this Application.

Bev Day that the Planning Advisory Committee Approve the following Variance to the Town’s Zoning By-law, Town of Grand Bay-Westfield By-law No. 112, for the construction/location of a new addition to an existing accessory building located at 72 Thompson Road,              PID No. 217331:
a) under Section 5.1.3 (b), grant a Variance of 0.81 m to decrease the minimum side yard setback from 1.5 m to 0.69 m….”

“…moved by Cllr. Bev Day that the  Planning Advisory Committee adopt a summer meeting schedule by cancelling the regularly scheduled meetings of July 16, 2012 and August 20, 2012, noting that a special meeting may be called if required…”
