APPLICATION FOR VARIANCE RE: GREG HOSSACK – 16 SHADY LANE
(A) DEVELOPMENT OFFICER’S REPORT DATED APRIL 30, 2009
(B) LETTER FROM ANDREW NEIL DATED APRIL 27, 2009
(C) LETTER FROM KATHLEEN HOLLAND DATED MAY 1, 2009
Applicant, Greg Hossack was present and informed the Committee that he has nothing further to add to his Application for Variance to construct a new accessory building 24 ft by 30 ft in addition to the existing garage.  He advised that due to the fact he lives on a private lane and is responsible for his own snow removal, he cannot get his cars out of his driveway prior to being plowed due to displaced snow.  Therefore, he feels his best option would be to construct a garage in which to park his vehicles to alleviate plowing and snow removal issues.
Mr. Hossack further advised that he has spoken with his neighbours and they have no objection to his Application and that he is aware of other Variances of this type being granted in the past.
There was no one present speaking in favor of or against this Application.
Correspondence received from Andrew Neil and Kathleen Holland stated no objection to this Application.
“…moved by Jim Burke that the Planning Advisory Committee deny the Request for a Variance to the Town’s Zoning By-law, Town of Grand Bay-Westfield By-law No. 101, to increase the maximum area of accessory buildings, located at 16 Shady Lane, PID No. 30239966….”
Seconded by James Evans.  Carried.
