Is your home well insulated? To find out, check your roof during the winter. If snow regularly melts - even on cloudy days - chances are that your attic is poorly insulated and heat is escaping. Check around the foundation as well. If snow has disappeared from the sides of the house, it's probably because heat escapes from your basement walls.
