PRUDE INC. MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

The PRUDE Inc. Mentorship Program offers newcomer and multicultural women and girls (mentees) the opportunity to learn about community organizations.  A mentee will be matched with a mentor who works or volunteers for a community organization.  The mentor will share his/her knowledge about that organization.

You could be a Mentor in our program if you:
  • Works or volunteer for a community based organization
  • Are a member of a committee, board, advising group or service club
  • Are a coach/leader
  • Work or volunteer in community outreach
  • Are actively involved in your community in any capacity
What is Mentorship?

Mentorship is a personal relationship in which a more experienced person helps someone with less experience.
The Mentor also acts as a role model and supports the mentee by sharing knowledge and advice.

How do I become a Mentor?
To become a mentor you must:
  • Be at least 19 years of age
  • Commit to meet a minimum of four hours per month for five months
  • Successfully complete the screening process
Attend a two hour Orientation and Training workshop

  • Develop/increase leadership skills
  • Develop/increase cultural awareness
How do I become a Mentee?
To become a mentee you must:
  • Be at least 16 years of age
  • Have little or no experience of community involvement
  • Commit to meet a minimum of four hours per month for five months
  • Have a one on one interview with the Program Coordinator
  • Attend a two hour Orientation and Training Workshop
