Darren Emenau specializes in locally dug clay and glazes that he creates from materials indigenous to the east coast of Canada, such as, potash, silica, shale, wood-ash and granite.

The striking surface effects created by firing his work multiple times in his wood-fired or oxidation kilns has garnered him consistent recognition for his art practice and professional achievements over the past 14 years.
