The Grand Bay-Westfield Recreation Department will continue to pursue partnerships .to ensure.quality recreation services.  Our purpose is to assist in individual and .community  development, to improve the quality of life and enhance social functioning

We will facilitate existing community organizations and volunteers in delivering recreational opportunities to residents of the region and encourage such  organizations to develop new opportunities where required and where possible.

The following goals will ensure maximum use at minimum cost to the taxpayers:
a.. to facilitate a variety of PROGRAMS;
b. to ensure that sufficient PUBLIC LAND is reserved to protect natural areas and  to ensure open space for parks and outdoor recreation activities;
c.. to encourage public, private and commercial COOPERATION in the provision of recreation services; and
d... to encourage the planning, development and operation of a variety of FACILITIES.
