The Town of Grand Bay-Westfield Council met in a Regular Session on Monday, February 11, 2008 with Mayor Losier presiding.

Deputy Mayor Murphy, Councillor Little, Councillor McGowan, Councillor Day and Councillor Evans were in attendance.

Deputy Mayor Murphy moved to approve agenda of February 11, 2008 as presented.

 Councillor McGowan moved to table Item No. 6.1 - RCMP Statistical Report for January 2008 until an RCMP representative arrives.

 Seconded by Councillor Day.  Carried unanimously.

RCMP REPRESENTATIVE ATTENDING BROUGHT FORWARD

Corporal Rob Landry provided information to Council regarding the RCMP Statistical Report for January 2008.

Councillor Day moved to receive and file RCMP Statistical Report for January 2008.

6.2 PRESENTATION BY JOAN WILKINS, SCHOOL DISTRICT 8, COORDINATOR, 
CELEBRATE WHAT’S RIGHT WITH THE WORLD

 Councillor McGowan moved to receive and file presentation by Joan Wilkins, School District 8, Coordinator, Celebrate What’s Right With the World.

 Seconded by Councillor Day.  Carried.

RE:  CHRONIC CARE MODEL - SUPPORTING A HEALTHY POPULATION IN GRAND BAY-WESTFIELD - JOANNE BARRY PRESENTER, ATLANTIC HEALTH SCIENCES CORPORATION

 Deputy Mayor Murphy moved to receive and file presentation by Joanne Barry, Atlantic Health Sciences Corporation Re:  Chronic Care Model Supporting a Healthy Population in Grand Bay-Westfield.

 Seconded by Councillor Day.  Carried.

Councillor Day moved to pay Bills for Payment in the amount of $123,581.64 and Bills for Ratification in the amount of $49,523.91; Grand Total of $173,105.55.

19. DEVELOPMENT OFFICER’S REPORT OF FEBRUARY 6, 2008
RE:  CIVIC ADDRESS DATABASE SERVICE AGREEMENT - RECOMMENDATION FOR SIGNATURES

 Councillor Evans moved to approve signing authority to enter into an agreement with Service New Brunswick and the Province to participate in the New Brunswick Civic Address Database Service Agreement.

 Seconded by Councillor McGowan.  Carried.
 

20. LETTER OF FEBRUARY 6, 2008 FROM KRISTA HARTERY, 
SECRETARY FOR JOE OLIVER, CHAIRMAN, RIVER VALLEY TRACK ASSOCIATION (RVTA) RE:  FUNDING COMMITMENT

 Deputy Mayor Murphy moved to refer letter of February 6, 2008 from Krista Hartery, Secretary for Joe Oliver, Chairman, River Valley Track Association Re:  Funding Commitment to the 2008 Capital Budget process for consideration.

 Seconded by Councillor Evans.  Carried.
 

21. RIVER CENTRE MANAGER’S REPORT OF FEBRUARY 7, 2008 
RE:  RIVER CENTRE HVAC UNIT CONTRACT - RECOMMENDATION FOR SIGNATURES

 Councillor Evans moved to approve the five year contract with Controls & Equipment Ltd. for the maintenance and repair of the River Centre’s HVAC unit.

 Seconded by Councillor Day.  Carried.
