| Councillor Day moved to approve the proposed “Grand Bay-Westfield
Half Marathon Event” to be held by the Half Marathon Committee on Canada
Day, Thursday, July 1, 2004 subject to permission of the Team Leader of
the RCMP and the District Engineer of the New Brunswick Department of Transportation
for the traffic control; co-ordination with Canada Day Planning Committee
for timing of the event, final route plan including registration, water/refreshment
stations, finish line, awards and reception details; Recreation Department
and the Works Department will be made available for the planning and preparation
of this event, and a link to the Town’s web site will be available.

Councillor Day moved to receive and file the RCMP Statistical Report for March 2004 as presented by Sergeant Greg Grant. Seconded by Councillor Murphy. Carried. It was noted that efforts would be made to have pedestrian crosswalks and turning lane markings painted as soon as possible. It was also noted that a voice mail message would be left for Council
members concerning the May 5th 7:30 p.m. Neighborhood Watch Meeting.
