RE: REQUEST FOR FINANCIAL SUPPORT - RON OUTERBRIDGE PRESENTER Derek Oland presented Council with information regarding the need for financial support to cover capital costs of repairs to the Imperial Theatre. The amount requested is $25,000 over a five year period. Councillor Calvin moved to refer the request for funding from the Imperial Theatre to the Town’s 2009 Capital Budget discussions for consideration. Seconded by Deputy Mayor Archer. Carried. |

(ARENA) PRESENTATION RE: AUDIT/BUDGET - JOHN WEBBER, TREASURER,
PRESENTER John Webber, Treasurer presented Council with information regarding the 2008 operations of the River Valley Community Center (Arena) and the proposed 2009 Budget. Councillor Murphy moved to receive and file presentation Re: Arena Audit/Budget by John Webber, Treasurer River Valley Community Center. Seconded by Councillor McGowan. Carried. It was noted Town staff will obtain the additional pages of the Arena Audit document and provide them to Council. Mayor Losier thanked John Webber for his many years of service as Treasurer for the River Valley Community Center. |

It was noted that Town staff will confirm if an elected official can vote on the adoption of minutes of a meeting for which they were not in attendance. |

THE FUNDY REGION SOLID WASTE COMMISSION
RE: SUBMISSION OF PROPOSED OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE YEAR 2009 Richard McLean, Town Representative for Fundy Region Solid Waste Commission presented Council with information regarding the 2008 operations of the Commission. Richard McLean introduced Marc MacLeod, General Manager of the Fundy Region Solid Waste Commission. Mr. MacLeod presented information regarding the proposed 2009 Commission Budget. Councillor Day moved to receive and file the correspondence of October 10, 2008 from the Fundy Region Solid Waste Commission (FRSWC) and to advise the Town’s representative on the Board that Council supports the proposed 2009 FRSWC budget. Seconded by Councillor Murphy. Carried. Mayor Losier thanked Richard McLean for his many years of service as the Town’s representative on the Fundy Region Solid Waste Commission Board. |

ACCESS ROUTE Councillor Murphy moved to refer the matter of legal and survey work necessary to complete the negotiations with the Nature Trust and the WorkSafe NB Board to acquire the rights of way necessary to construct the proposed Alternate Emergency Access road to the Town’s 2009 Capital Budget process. 22, 2008 RE: REVISED EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLAN Councillor McGowan moved to approve the revised Municipal Emergency Response Plan submitted by the Municipal Emergency Measures Organization with authorization for signatures as required which will be submitted to the New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization. Seconded by Councillor Day. Carried. It was noted letters of thanks would be forwarded to the three members of the EMO who worked diligently to complete the Plan, Chief Dan McCoy, Vic Aucoin, and Councillor Diane McGowan. Clarification will be obtained on the phrase: Neighbouring Municipalities in the Plan. |
