1. CALL TO ORDER - 7:30 P. M
The Town of Grand Bay-Westfield Council met in a Regular Session on Monday, March 27, 2006 with Deputy Mayor Murphy presiding.

Councillor McGowan moved to pay Mayor Losier in her absence.

Councillor Day moved to adopt the minutes of the Regular Council Meeting of March 13, 2006 as presented.

 Seconded by Councillor McGowan.  Carried.
 

7.1 MINUTES OF PLANNING ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING OF MARCH 6, 2006
Councillor Little moved to receive and file the minutes of the Planning Advisory Committee Meeting of March 6, 2006.

 Seconded by Councillor Evans.  Carried.
 

8. BILLS FOR PAYMENT
Councillor Day moved to pay Bills for Payment enbloc for a total of $128,980.50 and Bills for Ratification for a total of $47,624.03; grand total of $176,604.53.

Seconded by Councillor Evans.  Carried.

15.1 GRAND BAY-WESTFIELD VOLUNTEER FIRE/RESCUE DEPARTMENT ANNUAL REPORT 2005
Councillor Day moved to receive and file Grand Bay-Westfield Volunteer Fire/Rescue Department Annual Report for 2005. 

 Seconded by Councillor Evans.  Carried.

Council congratulated the Fire Chief and the Volunteer Fire/Rescue Department for their excellent year commending them on recruitment, training, and successful events.
 

16. LETTER RECEIVED MARCH 9, 2006 FROM AIDS SAINT JOHN
RE:  FUNDRAISER - AN EVENING WITH DAVID LUTZ AND FRIENDS

Councillor Day moved to refer the letter of March 9, 2006 from AIDS Saint John Re:  Fundraiser - An Evening with David Lutz and Friends to Mayor Losier for her discretion.

 Seconded by Councillor Evans.  Carried.
 

17. LETTER OF MARCH 4, 2006 FROM JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT NEW BRUNSWICK
RE:  22ND ANNUAL JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT FUTURES UNLIMITED BANQUET

 Councillor Evans moved to donate $150.00 towards the 22nd Annual Junior Achievement Banquet per letter of March 4, 2006 from Junior Achievement New Brunswick with the donation to be used to buy meal tickets, preferable for local area students.

 Seconded by Councillor Day.  Carried.
 

18. FACSIMILE OF MARCH 14, 2006 FROM ATLANTIC HEALTH SCIENCES CORPORATION
RE:  MEETING HEALTH CARE NEEDS OF OUR COMMUNITIES

 Councillor Day moved to receive and file facsimile of March 14, 2006 from Atlantic Health Sciences Corporation Re:  Meeting Health Care Needs of our Communities.

 Seconded by Councillor Evans.  Carried.
 

19.  RECREATION DIRECTOR’S REPORT OF MARCH 22, 2006
RE:  INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT

Councillor Evans moved to accept the proposal from Urban Landscaping Ltd. for Integrated Pest Management Services at a cost of $9,237 + $1,385.55 HST = $10,622.55 total for the period of May-November 2006 with an option to renew at mutual consent and further moved the Town would like to exercise the option to tailor the IPM monitoring so the Town will receive advance notice of any pest control treatments that may be needed with the Town’s approval required before any treatments can be applied.

 Seconded by Councillor Day.  Carried.
 

20. LETTER OF MARCH 15, 2006 FROM RANDY ROBINSON, MANAGER COMMUNITY EMERGENCY
PREPAREDNESS AND TRAINING RE:  2006-2007 TRAINING SCHEDULE OFFERED BY NEW BRUNSWICK EMERGENCY MEASURES ORGANIZATION

 Councillor Day moved to receive and file letter of March 15, 2006 from Randy Robinson, Manager Community Preparedness and Training Re:  2006-2007 Training Schedule Offered by New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization.

 Seconded by Councillor Evans.  Carried.

Council conveyed birthday wishes to Deputy Mayor Murphy.
