| The Town of Grand Bay-Westfield Council met in a regular session
on Monday, January 28, 2002 at 7:35 p.m. with Mayor Losier presiding.

| All members were in attendance with the exception of Councillor
Silliphant who was absent due to illness.
Deputy Mayor McGowan moved to pay Councillor Silliphant in her absence. Seconded by Councillor Day. Carried.

as presented.

| RE: 2002 DONATION TO TOWN OF GRAND BAY-WESTFIELD – VELDA JENNINGS,
PRESIDENT ATTENDING
Velda Jennings, President of the River Valley Seniors Club presented
Mayor Losier and Deputy Mayor McGowan (Senior Citizens Liaison) with their
annual donation to the Town in appreciation for their continued use of
the Centrum.

meeting of January 14, 2002 as presented.

Councillor Calvin moved to receive and file the minutes of the Fundy Region Solid Waste Commission meeting of September 26, 2001/Draft Minutes of the Fundy Region Solid Waste Commission meeting of November 28, 2001. Seconded by Councillor Day. Carried.

| PROGRAM (JEPP) GRANT APPLICATION
Councillor Day moved to ratify and have read the Telephone Poll of January 18, 2002 Re: 2002 Joint Emergency Preparedness Program (JEPP) Grant Application in that authorization be granted to proceed with 2002 JEPP grant application for communications equipment for EMO for $12,364.00 plus taxes requesting 50% provincial/federal funding. Seconded by Deputy Mayor McGowan. Carried.

for an amount of $92,233.62.

| RE: OUTSTANDING WORK ORDER #542-2001
Deputy Mayor McGowan moved to concur with the Recreation Director per his report of January 23, 2002 in that a 2002 Work Order be issued to Lunn’s Roofing Ltd. for the amount of $1,496.00 plus HST as originally quoted to be carried out as soon as weather permits. Seconded by Councillor Day. Carried.

| 17. | TOWN MANAGER’S REPORT OF JANUARY 23, 2002 | ||
| RE: APPOINTMENT OF A HERITAGE DAY COMMITTEE
Councillor Day moved to appoint a 2002 Heritage Day Committee and to appoint Suzanne Skidmore, Diane Bormke, and Linda Caron to the Committee effective immediately and authorize $484.00 for 2002 Heritage Day events. Seconded by Councillor Little. Carried. It was noted the Committee is planning a musical evening to occur
on February 16, 2002 at the River Valley Middle School.
