Mayor Losier, on behalf of Council, thanked Deputy Mayor Black, and
Councillors Keir and Sutton for their dedicated service during their term
of office and presented them with gift certificates. Mayor Losier
also presented a bouquet of flowers to Mrs. Black and Mrs. Keir.

Councillor Sutton moved to ratify Telephone Poll of May 16, 2001 in that approval be granted to engage J. W. Electric Inc. to provide the services of a qualified electrician for the period May 26, 2001 to May 26, 2003 subject to all terms and conditions of Quotation Number 001E-01 and per hourly rates and parts pricing submitted in their quotation dated May 10, 2001. Seconded by Councillor Calvin. Carried.

| RE: SERVICES OF A QUALIFIED PLUMBER, QUOTATION NUMBER 002P-01
Councillor Sutton moved to ratify Telephone Poll of May 16, 2001 in that approval be granted to engage B & R Commercial to provide the services of a qualified plumber for the period May 26, 2001 to May 26, 2003 subject to all terms and conditions of Quotation Number 002P-01 and per hourly rates and parts pricing submitted in their quotation dated May 15, 2001. Seconded by Councillor Calvin. Carried.

| RE: CARPENTRY SERVICES, QUOTATION NO. 028C-99
Deputy Mayor Black moved to ratify Telephone Poll of April 30, 2001 in that approval be granted to renew its option with Hilton Lomax for one year to May 26, 2002 for carpentry services subject to all terms and conditions of Quotation No. 028C-99 and per hourly rates submitted in their quotation dated May 3, 1999. Seconded by Councillor Calvin. Carried.

| RE: PURCHASE OF 8000 GALLON FIBERGLASS TANK
Councillor Calvin moved to ratify Telephone Poll of May 4, 2001 in that authorization be granted to purchase one used eight thousand (8000) gallon fiberglass tank, which has been properly cleaned to hold water, from W.S. General Contractors for $1,500, to enhance the readily available water supply at Fire Station One. Seconded by Councillor McGowan. Carried.

| RE: HOLDBACK – ORION CONSTRUCTION
Councillor Sutton moved to ratify Telephone Poll of May 9, 2001 in that authorization be granted to approve payment for 5% of total contract holdback amount of $3,961.25 plus $594.19 HST for a total of $4,555.44 to Orion Construction Re: Centrum Over Roof per recommendation of the Recreation Director and David Corkum, Consultant. Seconded by Councillor Calvin. Carried.

| RE: APPLICATION TO THE MUNICIPAL CAPITAL BORROWING BOARD
Councillor Calvin moved to ratify Telephone Poll of May 14, 2001
in that authorization be granted for the Town of Grand Bay-Westfield to
submit to the Municipal Capital Borrowing Board an application for authorization
to guarantee the repayment of money borrowed for capital expenses for the
following term and amount for the River Valley Community Center Inc:

Councillor Calvin moved to receive and file Town of Grand Bay-Westfield Tender Notes of May 15, 2001 Re: Services by a Qualified Plumber, Quotation No. 002P-01. Seconded by Councillor Sutton. Carried.

| RE: PURCHASE OF A ½-TON TRUCK FROM DOBSON CHRYSLER
DODGE JEEP
Councillor Sutton moved to ratify Telephone Poll of April 26, 2001 in that authorization be granted to proceed with purchase of a ½-Ton from Dobson Chrysler Dodge Jeep for $21,524.58 plus tax and license, being the same tendered price given the City of Saint John for a 2001 Dodge 1500 regular cab pick-up 4 x 2, 8’ box. Seconded by Deputy Mayor Black. Carried.

| Councillor McGowan departed the meeting due to a stated conflict
of interest.
Councillor Sutton moved to approve the following item from Bills
for Ratification:
Seconded by Councillor Calvin. Carried. Councillor McGowan rejoined the meeting. Councillor Sutton moved to pay the Bills for Payment enbloc for a total of $19,717.19, and approve the remaining Bills for Ratification for a total of $144,701.30, Grand Total $164,418.49. Seconded by Councillor Calvin. Carried.
